November 2010-James' 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday James!
We started off James' big day by going to the Living Planet Aquarium with Grandma Bryant. It was the perfect place for two curious little boys. We first had a yummy lunch and then wandered around looking at all there was to see. James was really happy and loved looking at the fish and touching what he could. Both boys had a lot of fun and were worn out by the end. James loves stuffed animals and got a little penguin to take home as a souvenir. He picked it out and laughed and hugged it over and over. When he sees something he likes he gets very excited and goes ooohhhh. We knew the penguin was a keeper.
It was also an exciting day because James got to ride facing forward in the car to the Aquarium. He was a little confused at first and then was very pleased he could finally see what was going on.

November 2010

November was a busy month for us. James turned one, we hosted another Thanksgiving dinner, our family was in town, both boys went to the doctor for check-ups and Nathan got a new car seat giving James his and a chance to face forward.
James' new favorite appliance is the fridge. Anytime it is opened he hurries over and pulls himself into it. He found the bottom drawer where the apples are and enjoys pulling them out and snacking on them. He bites right into them and I find that all of my apples have little bite marks in them.
Nathan is a funny boy. He is getting quite the imagination. He loves pulling apart the couch and creating all kinds of things like boats or forts. He also still likes to wear mommy's things from shoes to necklaces and even headbands.

October 2010-Halloween

Witches Night Out
We went to the Witches Night Out at Gardner Village and had so much fun. There were some ladies there that went all out dressing up. We ate, danced, shopped and had fun being with just the girls. We decided that it might be fun to go all out for next year, at least with the hats.

October 2010-Halloween

Trick or Treating
We had so much fun trick or treating this year. Grandma and Grandpa Moehle came with us. Nathan and James were the cutest dragons. While James rode comfortably around in Daddy's arms Nathan was busy getting lots and lots of treats for him and James and even the rest of us. We went around our little neighborhood and all of our neighbors were so sweet and so excited to see the boys. By the end of our adventure Grandpa was carrying the candy bucket because it became too heavy for Nathan to haul around.
Once we got home is when James really enjoyed the adventure of trick or treating. He dug right into his candy and had a surprisingly easy time chewing right through the wrappers to get to the chocolate. Nathan treasured his candy and for weeks just took it out and looked at it. It was several weeks before he even had a piece.

October 2010-Halloween

Trunk or Treat
I took two little dragons to the trunk or treat. We got lots of yummy treats and Nathan enjoyed seeing his buddies all dressed up too.

October 2010-Halloween

Halloween Party
We attended the annual adult costume party and had a blast. We dressed up as 80's rock stars and Ryan and I worked the big blond hair, neon mini skirt and the homemade rocker t-shirt. All of the costumes were great. We played the newly wed game and of course the couples balloon game. If you don't know what that is, don't ask.
Ryan and I won the best couples costume again this year. Last year I was 8 months pregnant and made a oven for my tummy with a t-shirt that said "Bun in the Oven". Ryan wore a chef hat and apron that said "The Bun Maker". We won the couples costume that year too. Who knows what we will come up with next year.
We had such a fun night and we are so glad to have such fun friends to celebrate the holiday with.

October 2010-Halloween

Pumpkin Carving Time
Grandpa helped us carve our pumpkins. Nathan wanted a scary pumpkin and Grandpa carved a James pumpkin with six little teeth and everything.

October 2010

Little Swimmer James
James and I started a Parent Tot swim class. We love it and James really enjoys getting in the water. We sing a fun songs, learn how to be comfortable in the water and James is learning how to float on his back. It is a great way to have some fun and spend time together.

October 2010

Hiking in Bell Canyon
Our family loves to be outdoors together and hiking is one of our favorite activities. Nathan is really starting to enjoy it and loves wearing his backpack to collect treasures like leaves and sticks. Bell Canyon was beautiful and we enjoyed taking a break at the lake to take in the beauty and both boys were pretty worn out afterwards.

October 2010

Wheeler Farm
Our family absolutely loves Wheeler farm! We spend a lot of time there in the summer and fall. We went with our friends to experience the pumpkin patch, hay maze, wagon ride and of course the tractors and animals. And Grandma and Grandpa Moehle got to experience it with us for the first time while they were here visiting. James loved playing in the pumpkin patch and Nathan and Grandpa got lost in the hay maze.

September 2010

Our Little Swimmer
Nathan is doing so well with his swim lessons. He has really come a long way. Richelle is his awesome teacher and she does a wonderful job with him. He is learning so many new things and loves going swimming. Just recently he conquered rolling on his back, meaning his face is in the water while he is swimming and he turns and floats on his back when he needs to breath. They teach the little swimmers this so that they know what to do if they ever fall in. It was a big challenge for him just like it was learning to float on his back but he is doing great and it is so fun to see his confidence grow. He also loves jumping off the diving board and wearing his flippers to swim with.
Great job Nathan!

September 2010

Grand Canyon National Park
It has become a really fun tradition to go on trips each year with Ryan's family. We have been to a lot of neat places like Yosemite, Zion and Arches. This year we went to the Grand Canyon. It was beautiful. We enjoyed seeing the sights and Nathan and James loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Shelley, Uncle Chad and their cousin Robbie. We also went hiking in Sedona and then stopped at Glenn Canyon Dam on the way home.
Thanks for another fun adventure!

I love to see the Temple

In April we went to Temple Square with our good friends the Butlers to see the beautiful grounds. It looks so amazing in the Spring with all the tulips blooming.

Our Family

James stayed nice and cozy riding in the Baby Bjourn. We sure have gotten a lot of use out of that little invention.

Nathan taking in the sights.

Nathan loves hanging out with Mckay. He thinks he is pretty cool. He does really look up to him.
All the kids enjoying the water fountain.

June 2010

We spend a lot of time at the Zoo. It is the perfect activity for a Saturday with Daddy! Both boys love watching the animals and Nathan scored a chocolate ice cream cone that he barely finished in time before he fell asleep on the way home. That is one other great thing about the Zoo, it wears busy boys out.

May 2010-James' first Bites

James tired his first solid foods. Rice cereal! As always it was so fun to go for this messy endeavour. He did great and I know he will be a good eater.
After watching me do it a few times Nathan really wanted in on the action. He actually did a really great job. He was very careful and went really slow. Yum!
