Hiking to Cecret Lake

On Saturday we decided to do the Cecret Lake Hike. It is one of those shorter hikes that is perfect for Nathan. Nathan enjoyed the hike. He smiled and waved and everyone walking by. He kicked his legs and babbled the whole way. It made for a fun hike.

The lake was beautiful and so still.
Nathan enjoyed his lunch by the lake while Ryan explored.
Nathan managed to twist his hat while he was trying to pull it off.
He was looking pretty hip.

Just for Fun

Nathan has been waking up in the craziest positions lately. He rolls everywhere in his crib until he gets stuck.
Nathan's new thing is to pull all of his toys out of the basket.
A day in the yard with daddy. Do I need to say more?
Nathan is growing hair and teeth like crazy. He has eight teeth!! And his hair is getting so long it hangs over his ears.
Wasn't too sure about the alphabet house at first but then he loved it.

My favorite guys!
Ready for the ride.
He is starting to roll to things that look interesting. He is working so hard on crawling but just can't figure out how to get his knees under him. Rolling and scooting work for now.
Trying on his fall wardrobe.

Stay N' Play at Snowbird

For our anniversary we did the Stay n' Play at Snowbird and had a blast!! It was nice to be up in the beautiful mountains where it was a little cooler. We stayed at the The Cliff Lodge and it was awesome!! We were on the ninth floor with awesome views. The first day we got there we did some hiking. It was a little chilly but like I said a nice break from the heat. The mountains were green and beautiful. I enjoyed seeing all of the wildflowers and we even saw a couple of deer too. The next day we took full advantage of all of the activities. The tram ride was Ryan's favorite. It was amazing how high up we were. We had some pretty neat views.
Us at the top. I know the picture is blurry but someone was nice enough to take it for us. It was freezing up there so Nathan was bundled in his stroller.
Of course we had to try out the bull riding. It was pretty fun but I was glad to get off of that thing. I used muscles I didn't even know I had but didn't fall off.
Taking the chair lift to the zip line. Ryan and I took turns since we had Nathan with us so we were able to get pictures of each other.

You can't tell but that is me on the zip line. I am the one on the left. It was fun and not as scary as I thought. There was a wedding later on that day and the bride and groom went down the zip line together. It was so cute!

The Alpine slides. Too bad Nathan was too little to go.

So you might be wondering why there is a zoo picture. Ryan had his work party at the zoo. So after a fun day at Snowbird we headed to the party. We had it all to ourselves and there was even an elephant show and everything. It was awesome!

5 year Anniversary

August 8, 2003
San Diego Temple

Today is our 5th anniversary. I can't believe it has been 5 years. Time goes so fast. It has been an amazing five years and our little family is very blessed. Ryan and I have grown so much and I look forward to many more happy years.

This year for a gift to Ryan I made a wedding video. We never had one done so I made one using our pictures of us growing up, our wedding pictures and our wedding music. It turned out beautiful. Here are some of my favorites.

The San Diego temple is so beautiful. It is a special place for us and ever since I was a little girl I wanted to get married there. Since I was from Utah I didn't know how that would happen but I got my wish and a wonderful husband too.

Our reception was at this beautiful country club with a golf course. So of course we had to get our picture in the golf cart.

Another reason why this is such a special day is because it is the start of the Beijing Olympics. 8/8/08 is a very lucky day in China. The Chinese believe that numbers are lucky based on how they sound. 8 or Ba sounds like wealth and is a very lucky number. So for the Olympics to start on 8/8/08 is not a coincidence. It also happens to be a lucky and happy day for us. It is also Father's Day in China which is said Ba Ba. We are going to teach Nathan to say Happy Ba Ba Day.

Swimming and other fun things

This picture was taken at Nathan's swim class. I thought it was neat since I would never be able to capture a shot like that. As you can see he doesn't mind going underwater. He is becoming quite the swimmer. Maybe he will enjoy watching the Olympics. (:
Waving hi at the park. Actually he doesn't quite know how to wave but we are practicing.
He loves the remote control as you can see.
Getting so big. He loves to smile and show off those teeth. Which he is getting two more of. That makes eight teeth!!
Apricot eyebrows.
