Sweet Tooth
James got a sucker at the bank and absolutely enjoyed every bit of it.  Treats are very exciting for him.  He loves them and makes his cute ooohhhh noise and points and stretches for what he sees until he gets it.  We had blue everywhere but oh was it a sweet treat!

November 2010-Thanksgiving

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner again this year.  We had a full house.  Grandma and Grandpa Bryant and Uncle Josh came from San Diego and Ryan's cousins from Provo came too.
My dad is a great cook so all of the men pretty much took over the kitchen.  Ryan and my dad cooked the turkey, my dad made a fabulous stuffing and all the trimmings and Josh was a great assistant. My mom and I did the pies and it all came together wonderfully.
We had a great time together.  Nathan and James enjoyed playing with their cousins.
Our family is so blessed and we have so much to be grateful for.  We played a game at dinner. You had to draw out a question having to do with something you are grateful for and took turns sharing our answers.  It was great to take some time and think about all of your blessings and to hear what everyone else was grateful for.  My greatest blessing is my family and I was so glad that we could all be together.

Playing in the Snow
Both boys loved putting on their snow gear and playing in the snow.  This was James' first experience with snow and he was off crawling all around in it in no time.
Our neighbor Jim has a RHINO and was using it to clear driveways one snowy afternoon so we all put our snow gear on to watch.  Jim let Ryan drive it for awhile and Nathan was so excited to ride along in it. It was so much fun! After that Daddy took Nathan sledding with his buddies Maddi and Mckay. It was a blast for all the kids.

November 2010-James' 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday James!
We love you so much! You are an amazing addition to our family. You have such a zest for life and a bubbly and happy little personality. We knew from the beginning that there was something sweet and special about you. You bring us so much joy each and every day. You have grown so fast and we have enjoyed watching you develop and learn so many new things. You are an amazing little guy and our family is so blessed to have you in it.

Present Opening Time
James had so much fun opening his presents. Each one brought a whole new round of excitement. He jabbered away and concentrated hard on getting all that paper off and with a big brother to help he caught on really quick. We opened each toy and played with it until James wanted to open another one. He got a awesome pick-up truck from G & G Bryant, a fun jungle book and pj's from G & G Moehle, a soft book from Nathan and from Mom and Dad a Little People farm set and lots of other wonderful things. The farm set was a favorite and we had to open it right away. Once opened James climbed right in the box and for a little while ended up having more fun playing in the box than with the toys. He would dance in the box to the music and galloping that the farm played. I love the simplicity of children. In the picture of him sitting in the box, you will notice a lot of drool. That was from all of the concentrating to get those presents open. He drools when he concentrates. We had such a great time together enjoying our sweet little James.

The Birthday Cake
James loved his birthday cake once he got going. We sang happy birthday and placed it in front of him. He was a little overwhelmed and wasn't quite sure what to do with so much cake. I cut off a smaller piece for him and he still wouldn't touch it and was insistent on using a spoon and fork. He started in with the spoon and then really got into it. He got his hands and face all in it and couldn't eat it fast enough. He gave us quite the show and it was so fun to see him enjoying it so much. The cake is definitely my favorite part and I think it was for James too.

James' Festive Decorations
After the Aquarium and naps we had a wonderful dinner with Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa Bryant. James loves to eat and is a meat and potatoes kind of guy so Grandpa made a delicious roast for us. We also had potatoes, corn, jello, rolls and veggies and James ate all of it.
