Murray City Fire Station #81
Nathan had his first friend party. We invited some of his best buddies and went to the Fire Station to see a real firetruck, meet the firemen and get a tour of their station. The firemen were so nice and did a great job with the kids. One of the firemen showed them all his gear and they got to see him get dressed and even try it on themselves. He also talked to them a little bit about fire safety and what they should do if there was a fire in their house. After that the kids got to climb in the firetruck, sit in the seats and even try on the headphones. Next he showed us where they cooked, slept and relaxed. Our fireman even showed us how fast it was to slide down the pole.
All of the kids got their own fire hat and badge. When the tour was over the firemen pulled the firetruck out of the garage and turned on the lights and sirens as they drove around the block. It was a very fun and exciting event and I think everyone enjoyed it. Some of the kids were a little timid at first (including my Nathan) but we had a good time together and the firemen were so kind and made it a very special day for Nathan.
